A good shop starts with clarity.
Buying digital cookbooks
Clara’s Recipes sells downloadable PDF cookbooks and recipe collections. These are not printed books and nothing is shipped — every title is delivered as a digital file.
After successful payment, Hostinger’s secure checkout emails your download link automatically, along with your order confirmation and receipt. Open the email, click the link, and save your cookbook. Keep that email — it is your proof of purchase and the way back to your file.
Each cookbook is added as a digital product in the Hostinger Online Store dashboard. There the owner uploads the cover image, enters the title and description, uploads the PDF file, sets the price and an optional sale price, assigns it to one or more categories, previews the listing, and publishes or unpublishes it. The owner can edit or replace the downloadable file at any time. This website reads those products automatically — no separate upload is needed here.
Digital delivery & limitations
Delivery is handled natively by Hostinger’s checkout and email system, not by this website. A few things worth knowing before launch:
Downloads arrive by email. The download link is sent with your order confirmation after payment. This site’s account area does not list past orders or download links, because the storefront integration does not expose order history — your confirmation email is the source of truth.
Paid files are never previewed. The “Preview the cookbook” samples on each product page are separate sample material the owner chooses (a few sample pages and recipes). They are never the full paid PDF, and no private file is exposed through a public link. Delivery is authorised only through Hostinger’s order and payment confirmation.
Setup the owner completes. For delivery to work, the owner must add each cookbook as a digital product with its PDF attached in the Online Store dashboard, and connect a payment provider. File-size limits, download counts, link expiry and any access windows are governed by Hostinger’s platform settings — check the current Online Store limits before adding large cookbooks.
Payments & secure checkout
Clara’s Recipes processes payments through Stripe via Hostinger’s secure hosted checkout. You never enter card details on this website — payment information is collected only on Stripe’s encrypted, PCI-compliant checkout page, and no raw card numbers are ever stored on or transmitted through this site.
Accepted payment methods (available at checkout once the owner connects them in the store dashboard):
- Major credit & debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
- Apple Pay (on supported devices)
- Google Pay
- PayPal
Guest checkout is supported — you do not need to create an account to buy a cookbook. An account is only needed if you’d like to sign in for future visits; it is never required to complete a purchase.
All prices are in U.S. dollars (USD). The subtotal shown in your bag is the item total before tax. Applicable taxes, if any, are calculated and displayed on the final hosted checkout page before you confirm payment. There is no shipping charge — these are digital products.
The checkout flow is intentionally short: add cookbooks to your bag, review them, continue to secure checkout, enter your payment information once, and Stripe processes the payment. On confirmation, your digital download link is emailed to you automatically with your order receipt.
Payment methods are connected in the Hostinger Online Store dashboard, not in this website’s code. Before the shop can accept live payments, the owner must complete:
- Open Online Store → Settings → Payments in the Hostinger dashboard.
- Connect Stripe as the primary payment provider and complete account verification. This enables card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay automatically on supported devices and browsers.
- Connect PayPal as an additional payment method if desired.
- Set the store currency to USD under Store → Settings, so every price and checkout total displays in U.S. dollars.
- Confirm tax settings (automatic tax or manual rates) so checkout shows any applicable tax correctly.
- Enable guest checkout in the checkout settings so buyers are not forced to create an account.
- Attach each cookbook’s PDF file as a digital product so the download link is emailed after payment.
Until Stripe (and PayPal, if used) are connected in the dashboard, the checkout button will not be able to complete a live charge. This website never simulates or fakes a successful payment — it hands off to the real hosted checkout, which only succeeds once a provider is connected.
Orders & refunds
The owner manages products and orders in the Online Store management area. Payments take place in the store’s secure hosted checkout, not in a payment form on this website.
For an order enquiry, a re-send of your download link, or a refund request, contact the owner below with your order reference. This site does not automatically issue refunds or grant downloads based on a checkout return URL.
Privacy & store information
Contact form submissions are stored privately so the owner can respond. They are not visible to other visitors. The store checkout collects the details necessary to process your order. Optional analytics and marketing cookies are used only with your consent.
The shop owner still needs to supply the legal business identity, contact details, digital-product license, cancellation terms and retention policy before opening the shop to customers.
Cookies essential to the shop remain active. You can change optional cookie preferences from the footer at any time.
